It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. On Tuesday, December 27th, Adrien passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Rose (née Le Dévéhat); his son Louis (Jenny) , grandchildren Amy and Carli-Anne (Bob) Pascal and great-granddaughter Brooklyn; his son Denis (Lucille), grandchildren Stéphanie (Corey) Boult and Dérrick; his son Robert (Rosanna), grandchildren Allison and Ryan; his daughter Chantal (Tom) Swistun, grandchildren Collin, Clayton and Garrett; his daughter Eveline (Méril) Rivard, grandchildren Mathieu, Jérémie, Nicolas and Christian; his three sisters, Marie (Norbert) Bosc, Élisa (Henri) Dion and Annette (Armand) Bosc; as well as many nieces and nephews. Adrien was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Antonie (née Sauteur); his brother Raymond (Clotilde) and sister Agathe (George) Deroche.

Adrien was a spectacularly devoted husband, father and grandfather and was always someone his family could count on. No task ever too small nor too daunting – for every challenge he had a strategy. His selfless dedication to others’ well-being is something that will forever be remembered. He held true to his character until the very end.

Adrien was born on December 21, 1931 in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Manitoba; where he spent his early years on the family farm. He met his beautiful wife, Rose, in 1954 when she first arrived to Canada from France. They were married on June 22, 1957 in St. Claude, Manitoba.

Adrien spent the majority of his career in the grain trade industry, having been with Manitoba Pool for 35 years, of which 29 were spent in Dufrost, Manitoba. His dedication and hard work are qualities he emphasized while raising his family.

Adrien had a wide array of interests and hobbies including curling, travel, wine and beer making. He made a point of being avid on the computer and was always MacGyvering something around the house.

A home bursting with family is what brought him the greatest joy. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed.

Special thanks to the staff of 6E at St. Boniface General Hospital who were tremendous in Adrien’s final days; also special thanks to Abu from Home Care Services for the care he provided over the past year; and to all the angels at Villa Beliveau for their continued support.

A funeral mass will be held on January 5th 2017, 2:00pm at Église Catholique St. Eugène, 1009 St. Mary’s Rd, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Those who wish, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
