<div itemprop="description">Donald, beloved brother, uncle and great uncle, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Pembina Place. <br /><br />Born in Cayer, Manitoba on October 4, 1936, he was predeceased by his mother Leontine and father Joseph Zastre, his sisters Arlettea, Verna and Lucille and his brothers Maurice and Paul. <br /><br />Donald is survived by his siblings, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws: Blanche, Edward (Francine), Dave (Florence), Annette (Bob) McKinnon, Marcel (Alvina), Raymond (Donna), Vern, Denise (Rick) Treyturik. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and special friends who enjoyed spending time with him. <br /><br />Donald worked at SMD for about 15 years where he repaired wheelchairs until he retired at the age of 65. This was a position that brought him great pleasure. He lived at the Deaf Centre (Pembina Place) for 34 years first independently and then in assisted care. He made many friends there and will be greatly missed. <br /><br />Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place on Saturday, May 16 at 2:00 pm at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one&rsquo;s choice. <br /><br />Many thanks to the staff at Pembina Place for their kindness especially Richard, Ray, Judy, Kaylee and Sabrina. Also thanks to Dr. Ramgoolam and the nurses and staff of the 2nd floor.<br /><br /></div>
