It is with unbelievable sorrow that we announce that Daniel Harrison Impey passed away on December 5, 2016.

He will be so greatly missed every single second of every day by his sister Amanda, his mother Linda and his father Dennis. Sharing our sorrow is his partner and truly a member of our family, Carla Zaroda, along with her family. Forever loving their only grandson are grandparents Elsie and John Thrumble. Amanda and our family are comforted by her partner Cory Enns. Daniel will be remembered by all of his aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family as well as an enormous group of close and loyal friends.

Dan favoured the trades over the office and switched from commerce at the University of Manitoba to plumbing at Red River College and was in the process of attaining his plumbing certification. He had many friends and colleagues at Wes-Man Mechanical and a long working relationship with Al Reidke.

Dan had an aptitude for mechanical work. Always handing out a helping hand, Dan would do any handy job around the house that needed doing with a smile on his face.

Daniel will always be a caring, funny and outgoing part of our family. Dan loved being a part of every family gathering and always looked forward to Sunday dinners and family celebrations. He has many friends who he met playing community club hockey, golfing at Rossmere, playing guitar in the garage bands, skateboarding around the city and snowboarding at Springhill. He loved fishing with his buddies, especially Blaine and family time at the cottage in Victoria Beach. With a smile on his face, he was often making others laugh with jokes and his silly nature. He knew all the words to every country song and would sing out loud in the car.

It’s his happy go lucky nature and that contagious laugh that will be so, so sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

Evening visitation and prayer service will take place on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 315 Munroe Ave.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in support of his cousin to L’Arche Winnipeg or to a charity that is close to your heart.
