<div itemprop="description">ESTELLE CARMEL MASNIUK (ne&eacute; Cl&eacute;ment) 1927 - 2016 <br /><br /><br /><br />Peacefully, at the age of 88, Estelle passed away at Prairie View Lodge in Pilot Mound, Manitoba.<br /><br /> <br /><br />Estelle was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, John (&ldquo;Papa John&rdquo;) in 2015, as well as her sisters Jeannette Bernardin, Yolande Hartle and C&eacute;cile Cl&eacute;ment.<br /><br /><br /><br />She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Trish, Dianne (Paul) Sambrooke, Gary (Bonnie), Bryan, Michelle (Don) Funk, and Cindy (Harmen) Westra, as well as 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her brother L&eacute;o (Yvette) Cl&eacute;ment and her sister Claudette Cl&eacute;ment. <br /><br /><br /><br />Estelle was born in St. Pierre-Jolys to H&eacute;l&egrave;ne and Michel Cl&eacute;ment, the second of six children. She attended school in La Broquerie and complete her Grade 12 year in St. Agathe. After obtaining her teaching certificate, she began her teaching career in Narcisse, MB, where she met her future husband, John. For the first ten years of their marriage, they lived in Narcisse, where the first four children were born. In 1957, they moved to Winnipeg. Estelle taught one year at Holy Cross Parochial School and then attended Teacher&rsquo;s College. She taught at Varennes and Minnetonka Schools, while going to Coll&egrave;ge Universitaire de St. Boniface during the evenings and over the summer months to earn her Bachelor of Education. Estelle enjoyed several hobbies, some of which included knitting, reading, doing crossword puzzles and gardening. She spent many hours entertaining family and friends. She was an excellent cook, a gracious hostess and always set a beautiful table. One of her greatest loves was spending time with her grandchildren.<br /><br /><br /><br />In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Estelle's life was held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:00 am at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street.<br /><br /><br /><br />A very special thank you to the staff at Prairie View Lodge for the exceptional care she received while she was a resident there.<br /><br /><br /><br />In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Rock Lake Health District Foundation (ALTERNATIVE CARE UNIT) Box 130 Crystal City, MB R0K 0N0 Desjardins 204-233-4949 1-888-233-4949 <br /><br /></div>
