It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Frank at the Concordia Hospital on December 25, 2014.

Frank leaves to mourn his loving wife, Rita of 64 years, his children Rick (Jonelle), Peggy (Clay), Vivian (Bob), Greg (Burnadee) and Vince (Reta), six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister Jean Thiessen and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was born in Winnipeg on August 2, 1925. Near the end of World War II, he enlisted in the Army Medical Corp. After the war, he obtained his journeyman machinist ticket. He worked at Canadian Bronze for 31 years and retired as machine shop supervisor. His retirement was spent in Grunthal where he and Rita started a woodworking business. They moved back to Winnipeg after he was diagnosed with Parkinson. In his last years, he was challenged with many medical conditions. In spite of his failing health, he retained his love of sports, fishing, music, drawing and game playing.

The family would like to thank the staff and all of Frank’s friends at Misericordia and Concordia Place.

A memorial service to celebrate Frank’s life will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinsons Society Manitoba, 7-414 Westmount Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2J 1P2.
