<div itemprop="description"> <p> <b> HELEN &ldquo;ILONA&rdquo; VIRAG </b> </p> <p> <b> (nee KOVACS) </b> </p> <p> <b> &nbsp; </b> </p> <p> Peacefully with family by her side, on Monday January 28, 2013, at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Helen passed away at the age of 86 years. </p> <p> &nbsp; </p> <p> She was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph in 2002. </p> <p> &nbsp; </p> <p> Helen leaves to cherish her memory her children:&nbsp; Rosa, Zoltan (Linda), Susan (Don); grandchildren:&nbsp; Angela (Tom),Veronica, Cari, Aaron, Erika (Scott) Jeffrey, Michelle, Philip (Shelly) and Michael; great-grandchildren:&nbsp; Brent, Kelsey (Joshua), Connor, Cameron, Chanelle, Andrew, Matthew, Jonathan, Dylan, Alicia and Quinn.&nbsp; She will also be missed by numerous relatives and friends in Winnipeg, Ontario, British Columbia, Texas and Hungary. </p> <p> &nbsp; </p> <p> Ilona was born in Hungary on November 25, 1926 and married Joseph in 1943.&nbsp; Together with their children, they left their homeland in 1957, arriving in Canada in 1958.&nbsp; Helen took care of her family while working outside the home most of her life.&nbsp; Helen and Joseph enjoyed spending time in Riverton, MB and their winters in Texas before moving back to Winnipeg. </p> <p> &nbsp; </p> <p> A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-mother, she was always there when you needed her.&nbsp; Helen enjoyed good times with her family, spending as much time with them as possible. Mom will be truly missed. </p> <p> &nbsp; </p> <p> The family would like to thank the Doctors and Staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion given to Mom and the family. </p> <p> &nbsp; </p> <p> Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. with eulogy at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, February 04 at the St. Anthony of Padua Hungarian Church, 365 Burnell Street.&nbsp; Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. </p> <p> &nbsp; </p> <p> In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen&rsquo;s memory to The Arthritis Society, Manitoba Division, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6. </p> </div>
