It is with great sadness that the family announces the unexpected passing of Hélène Tucker at St. Boniface Hospital on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the age of 70 years. Hélène was predeceased by her parents Elzéar and Elise Boulet. She will be deeply missed by her husband Gord Tucker, son Taime Tiercel (nee Richard Halstead) and twins David Halstead (Trish) and Deborah Baxter (Corwyn); seven grandchildren, Dawson, Kyla, Alyssa, McKenna, Stephanie, Amy, Amanda, and one great granddaughter, Aubrey. She is also survived by her two brothers, Ron (Joanne) and Don Boulet, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mom was born in St. Boniface, MB on November 18, 1946. She grew up in Fort Garry and started a career at the Royal Bank where she was employed for 49 years. During this time she resided in Winnipeg, Dauphin, Thunder Bay and Kenora. While in Dauphin, she opened her own Carpet by Color store where she met Gord in 2001. Upon committing to each other, they moved to Thunder Bay and eventually married in 2004. They now reside in Kenora where Mom and Gord designed and built their waterfront dream home, a place where she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Hélène was a home body person and loved her family time. Family time and visits with kids and grand kids was always her number one priority. The Haywood fall supper was an annual event and Hélène made sure we always attended along with our family. Here we would meet Uncles, Aunts and numerous Cousins. She also loved her flower garden in our yard and the peace and tranquility on our waterfront property. Nature is in abundance here and we enjoyed watching ducks, geese and wild life in spring with their young families. You could see it in her eyes and by the smile on her face when geese and ducks showed up in our yard with their young at water’s edge. Hélène was very meticulous and well organized as everything had to be in its proper place. Hélène always is and will be the love of my life, my rock of Gibraltar. One thing I know for sure is that Hélène loved it when I teased her, and I will miss her more than anything in this whole wide world.

Mom was passionate about working on the family tree and taking trips to Quebec with Gord for research. She often spent time with her cousins reminiscing about old times and catching up about each other’s families. Mom loved sitting by the fire telling stories with the family or going for bike rides while camping at Birds Hill Park every summer.

Her love and dedication to her family was unquestionable. She was so proud of her husband, children and grandchildren and expressed it often. She was the glue that held the family together always wanting to spend time together, making sure that we knew we were loved. We will truly miss the warm welcoming hugs to say hello and the soft but tight hugs goodbye. Mom, you will be in our thoughts and in our hearts for our lifetime. Thank you for choosing us. XOXOXO 143
