JOSEPHINE FROBISHER
(Lamirande)
March 18, 1928 – May 10, 2015

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Josephine Frobisher on May 10, 2015, at Actionmarguerite-Foyer Valade. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Emile in 2003.

Josie was born to Zephrin and Yvonne Lamirande and lived her entire life in St. Vital. After marrying she also raised her family in St. Vital mostly on Frobisher Road. Mom stayed home with the six of us until we were in school.

She ventured off to work at the St. Amant Centre. She stayed there for a number of years. Eventually she went on to work for Motor Coach Industries. She was very proud of her work and often pointed out the Greyhound buses on which she worked. She worked for MCI for over 30 years until her retirement. Unfortunately shortly after retirement she encountered numerous health issues. She never complained and enjoyed life the best she could.

The Mom we remember was a Gem. She was a great cook and made the best bannock, cabbage rolls, perogies, cheesecake etc. She passed that talent on to her daughters. She was a “sharp” dresser in her day, always looking her best. She loved her Bingo and she was pretty darn lucky at it. Mom was vibrant and had a great sense of humor of which we all inherited.

Mom was fortunate enough to meet her all time favorite “Fats Domino”. He sang “Hello Josephine” to her and gave her a signed LP. One of the best Birthdays ever!

She leaves to mourn her six children: Claire, Bob (Margaret), Judy (Rick), Jeanette, Bonnie (Kim), and Tina (Darryl); grandchildren: Keith, Kris, Tracy, Kevin, Rob, Robyn, Jodi, Michael, Tyna, Jamie, Ryan, and Jesse; great-grandchildren: Sarah, Katie, Kanadi, Courtney, Richard, Bryce, Zach, Dalton, Brenden, Skylar, Aaron, Taylor, Tyrell, Breanne, Brea, Hailey, Jory, Avery, Dante, Emilee, Ciara, and Landon and a great-great-grandson Mason. She also leaves to mourn her sisters: Val, Theresa, Jeanette, Stella, Alida, Diane and Pauline; brothers: Ross, Jim, Edward and Gordy.

We Love You Mom and You will Forever be in Our Hearts.

A Celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15 at Christ the King Parish, 847 St. Mary’s Road.

The family would like to thank the 3rd floor at Actionmarguerite-Foyer Valade for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Jean.
