Kevin Hanson
May 10, 1965 - April 5, 2017
Kevin Manley Hanson passed away with his family by his side on April 5, 2017 at Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 51 years. Kevin leaves to cherish his memory his mother Muriel, sister Lisa (Sean), brother Brent (Toni), the entire L’Arche Community, particularly his housemates and friends at Chimo, as well as his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many cousins and countless friends. Kevin was predeceased by his father Delmar Hanson, in 2000.
Kevin lived his whole life in Winnipeg and when his father was transferred to Gillam, Manitoba, he joined the Winnipeg L’Arche community which became his second family. Through his kindness and humour Kevin made many friendships that lasted a lifetime. He loved to be among family and friends and was generous with his warm handshakes and hugs. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Concordia hospital for the extraordinary kindness and care provided to Kevin in his final days.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church, 710 Roanoke Street, Winnipeg on Tuesday, April 11th at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to L’Arche Winnipeg (118 Regent Ave. E., Wpg, MB R2C 0C1).
