It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence on October 27, 2016 at the age of 78 years, commending his spirit to Heaven.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Peggy of 51 years; son Lawrence and daughter Deanna (Cornell); Granddaughters Shayna, Tabatha, Stephanie, Jessica, and Amber; great grandchildren Brooklyn, Ashton, and Cory Jr.; nephew Andy (Lucille); and his special friends at his summer place in St. Malo. He enjoyed sitting with his friend Orest in their lawn chairs having a “few” beers.

Joining the iron workers in 1966, he was involved in erecting many buildings in every area of the city and many in the country. He was in charge of erecting the first tallest high rise, the Richardson Building, and was photographed by the Winnipeg Free Press walking on a 6 inch steel beam on the 32nd story. He assembled and operated the first climbing crane as the on-the-ground cranes became too short. When he and fellow co-worker Harry Einarson got together, they erected many buildings around the kitchen table. He enjoyed his retirement spending time with his family, whom he cherished.

Thank you to all the medical staff who have cared for Lawrence, Dr. Tan, Dr. Tim, Dr. Macksymiuk, Dr. Sinka, Tamara, Crystal, and many others.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Emile Roman Catholic Church, 556 St. Anne's Road. Donations may be made in Lawrence's memory to Siloam Mission's Christmas Dinner.

"Love never fades, but grows with each memory."
