Lisa Marie Hrymak
January 27, 1977 – December 30, 2014

On December 30, 2014 our beautiful Lisa completed her earthly journey at home and in the loving arms of her family.

Lisa is lovingly remembered by her family, mother Louise Billows (Ruest), father Peter Hrymak, brother Jeff Hrymak, sister Allison Zegalski (Rennie), nephew Zachary and niece Charlotte. Lisa is also fondly remembered by her best friends Anita and Christine.

Lisa grew up in Transcona, spending a happy childhood skipping rope, riding bicycles and playing with her stuffed animals. She graduated from College Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau in 1995, and attended the University of Manitoba.

Lisa, in search of adventure, moved to Calgary in 1997 where she attended Mount Royal College and earned her real estate broker’s license. Lisa’s greatest joy was to travel and she facilitated this by working as a flight attendant, first for Skyservice, and later for Air Canada. Lisa loved her career as a flight attendant. She moved to Toronto in 2007 where she worked for Air Canada full time, on domestic and international routes. Lisa thrived in this environment; she loved meeting new people, and she loved the excitement and energy her career provided.

Lisa was fearless, there was never any doubt in her mind all the things she could accomplish. Her greatest accomplishment was as a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her strength and selflessness in the face of adversity was heroic. Lisa always thought first of others, and was a source of infinite kindness and fun to everyone around her.

In the last chapter of her life, Lisa travelled as much as she could, looking for the best beaches and the greatest experiences. Lisa loved vacationing in Cancun, Bahamas, Maui, and had a special place in her heart for Sedona, Arizona. Lisa even went to Disneyworld and rode every single scary ride in the park, despite being on chemo treatments. If Lisa put her mind to it, she made it happen.

We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to the medical team(s) who took such good care of Lisa. Specifically, we would like to thank Dr. Julian Spears, Dr. Sneiderman, Dr. Miller, and Dr. Mason in Toronto; and to Dr. Pitz, Dr. Beiko, and Nurse Kim at CancerCare in Winnipeg. In addition, we would like to thank the army of nurse angels from Palliative Care Fort Garry. Please know that you provided Lisa with kind and compassionate care and we are all extremely grateful.

If friends so desire, please make a donation to the charity that is closest to your heart.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Lisa is now at the beach and is the brightest star in the sky.
