RAECHEL MICHELLE (MIMI) PHILLIPS (nee HAYES) October 29, 1967 - October 21, 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Raechel Michelle Phillips on October 21, 2015 at the age of 47.
Raechel was a devoted wife, mother, sister, auntie and friend. She leaves behind her husband Mike of twenty years, and her three children, Brett (Jeremy), Crystal (Robert) and Marie who were her pride and joy. She also leaves behind her loving parents Jack and Claire Hayes, sister Shaun (Donald), brother-in-law Craig (Darlene) and her nieces and nephew Shauna, Samantha, and CJ.
Raechel was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on October 29, 1967 and moved to Winnipeg in 1970 where she attended Angus Mckay Elementary School, John Henderson Junior High School and Miles MacDonell High School.
After graduation she worked for VAW Systems for 20 years. She later graduated with honours in Health Care Aide and Unit Assistant courses and subsequently worked at Health Sciences Centre where she was dedicated to providing care to the patients and helping others.
She had a deep love of animals which she expressed with her dogs and cats and had dreamed of being a Marine Biologist. Raechel was an avid Winnipeg Jets fan and enjoyed watching the games with her husband and calling her dad after to re-hash. She had a wonderful, albeit quirky sense of humour and enjoyed sharing jokes with her mother, family and friends. Shopping and outings with her mother were always a special treat. But her greatest joy came from spending time with her husband and children from whom she was taken from much too soon. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. in Winnipeg, Friday, October 30, 2015 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Winnipeg Pet Rescue No-Kill Animal Shelter http://www.petrescueshelter.com/help-now/donate/ Or Health Sciences Centre Foundation: https://hscf.thankyou4caring. org/donate HSCF
