<div itemprop="description">Sophia Barbara Koulouriotis <br>(nee Kotzamanin) <br> <br>Peacefully, on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, Sophia passed away at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 78 years. <br> <br>Sophia is lovingly remembered by Evangelis “Val”, her husband of 48 years; her children, Joanna and Alexander; her granddaughter Sheyne; her sister Elizabeth (Wesley) Tebbe and nephew Timothy; and beloved four-legged family members, Meli and Flower as well as numerous cousins and friends. <br> <br>She was predeceased by her parents Avralia and George Kotzamanin and her sister Euredike. <br> <br>Born in 1935, Sophia grew up in Wolseley in Winnipeg. Having lived in Winnipeg all her life, Sophia was immensely fond of the city and delighted in sharing her memories of Winnipeg. In 1965, she married Val and happily began her own family shortly afterwards. Sophia loved to travel, relishing the chance to experience new cultures and travelling throughout the continental US and Europe, Bermuda, Jamaica and Japan. She was a creative cook and an adventurous gardener. Kind and thoughtful, Sophia was a good listener and a trusted friend who was always willing to help those who needed her. <br> <br>Attendees are requested to wear a splash of colour; this service is a celebration of life and the colour Sophia brought to the lives of those who loved her. <br> <br>Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 1, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Demetrius Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Ave. Burial will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. <br></div>
