Taito Aho
July 27, 1928 - September 14, 2015
TAITO (TY) WILLIAM AHO
Ty passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at Golden Links Lodge at the age of 87 years.
Predeceased by his wife Verna, Ty is survived by daughter Lisa from Winnipeg, son Bill (Nancy) from Yellowknife and daughter Shelby from Saskatoon; grandchildren Valisa and David and extended family in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Born July 27, 1928 and raised in Thunder Bay, Dad was active in sports from a young age – rugby, basketball, broomball, then later golf, curling and the infamous fishing trips with his best buddies.
After a well deserved retirement, Mom and Dad enjoyed many years at their summer cottage where Dad perfected one of his favorite hobbies – wine making.
Dad loved his family and spending summers at the lake with his grandchildren.
In keeping with Ty’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial will be held at a later date.
A special thank you to the staff at Golden Links Lodge for the years of care and compassion Dad received.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or Golden Links Lodge would be gratefully appreciated.
Love you Dad
